For most of us it is simply a reality of life that we need to work to survive. Network marketing offers us a way to work smarter and faster to achieve our dream. The work that you place into your network marketing business will pay off and ultimately offer you the opportunity to have free time and expendable cash. To state it simply, you’ll get out of it what you put into it. You don’t have to work a set amount of hours or days per week, and you get to choose how much effort and time you have to place towards the business (that’s why so many people are drawn toward this business model), but you do have to put in some effort. If you have an hour a day, you can make it work, if you have a few hours a day, you can make it work quicker, if you want to work full time to begin with – you’ll see results even sooner. First, you have to Decide to Succeed.
There seems to be a common misconception that direct sales do not require any work.

Many people who don't succeed in network marketing fail because they don’t have realistic expectations. This is many times why people believe that when network marketing doesn’t work for them, that their experience (no matter the product or business) must have been a scam or pyramid “scheme”. The reason that it didn’t work is actually because it’s Not a pyramid scheme. In a pyramid scheme, the idea is that you make money doing nothing - it's essentially a raffle, as there is no physical product involved. This model always falls apart, with the people entering at the bottom of the tier placing money in and seeing nothing in return.
How can you make Network marketing best work for you? Write everything down that you don’t like about this type of marketing. Look at your list. Now don’t do those things. It’s really that simple. Let’s face it, none of us want to be “that person”. The person that alienates friends and family by inviting them over for wine only to pounce on them and force (guilt) them into purchasing your product. You don’t want to be the person that only ever posts facebook comments about how great your product is until every single one of your contacts hides you from their news feed. And worse yet (for those of us that live here in sunny Florida) – please don’t be that person that stops to write a tweet about your product while in the middle of a crowded walkway . . .

… at Disney World.
This business is about helping others so that we can all gain financial freedom. If there’s something that you really don’t like about how you’ve been approached by a network marketer in the past, chances are that others feel the same way. Find a way of approach that you feel most comfortable with and stick to it. If social media is up your alley, focus on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. If you’re a social butterfly, head out to a coffee shop and strike up a conversation with a fun looking individual that you think could benefit from your product. We all have different personalities, so the approach that each of us takes may be different. We offer our team a variety of training based upon their own personal strengths. After all, if you like what you’re doing, that’s the first step to success.

Be aware that the product and the business opportunity that you choose won’t appeal to everyone. Some people feel uncomfortable with the idea of direct sales altogether. Imagine a jar full of cookies; not everyone likes the same type of cookies, but there’s certainly nothing wrong with offering cookies to everyone. People will either try them and like them, try them and not like them, or refuse to try them. A potential customer should never feel pushed or guilted into purchasing a product – that’s the result of an inexperienced marketer. Likewise, it’s best to be tactful (not angry and defensive) if you get approached to try a product and aren’t interested, or if you do choose to try a product and later decide that you don’t love it and want to send it back. Most companies offer money back guarantees just for this reason. They want to give you the opportunity to try and like the product.
If you've tried network marketing before (or know of someone who has) and you did put in the work and didn’t see positive results, there’s still a really good chance that it wasn’t your fault. There is a lot of misinformation out there, and unfortunately the marketplace does have its fair share of fraudulent programs, promising amazing & quick results that just don’t work. Research the company that you are interested in partnering with and make sure that you feel comfortable not only with their products and compensation plans, but most importantly, with the company's core values. The company will become a reflection on you. If you find the right company, not only can they help you to succeed, they can help you to find the best in yourself, and to pass the same along to others. After all, that's what network marketing is all about!
